Entrepreneurism DRIVES cultures and economies. That may seem like a bold statement, but we witness the power of Entrepreneurism daily. The products we use, the devices we turn on, the cars we drive, the tools we count on, are all the result of human entrepreneurial spirit. In 2014 I embarked on a project to create a model depicting what and who an entrepreneur is. Since then, I have used the model to help organizations:
- Build entrepreneurial support systems
- Teach entrepreneurial spirit as part of business and non-business curricula
- Inform teachers how to recognize and support students exhibiting entrepreneurial traits.
- Encourage youth to explore their own entrepreneurial spirit.
- Support job placement program staff in their efforts to promote entrepreneurism.
One of the most exciting projects I completed was authoring the EYE Course for a long standing client. EYE stands for the Entrepreneurial Youth Experience. The EYE Course is owned and delivered by BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 of Williamsport, PA. The EYE Course is a unique course designed to engage 7-12 grade students in a journey of personal and entrepreneurial exploration. Through my work on this course, I had the opportunity to work with local economic development leaders, professors, high school teachers and entrepreneurs to assess the needs of various organizations and build a set of only the most relevant topics and experiences for students. The course was recently adopted by CENSOP, Inc. for use in their In-school Youth program.
There is a strong relationship between organizational vision and entrepreneurial spirit. If you would like to learn more about entrepreneurism, use the Contact link above. I would love to hear how you belief we could work together.
